Have you ever considered that if we all work together to
make our world a better place, we will be more successful than if we only do it
by ourselves? Helping others is a
gratifying experience that we must share with everyone.
12 Fundraising Ideas that
Work!
1. Spare Change
Drive: Ask people to donate the contents of their spare change
jar. This could include asking local malls to donate the change in their
fountains.
2. Gift Program: Ask people to make
donations to the Kisumu Project in someone's honor in lieu of a Christmas, Mother's Day or
wedding gift. Kisumu Project, Inc. will send a card commemorating the gift to the honoree. For
example, a teacher might prefer to send an orphan to school for a
year ($30) instead of receiving yet another knick-knack.
3. Help an Orphan Day: Ask people to donate the amount they
spend on food and entertainment one day of the year to helping orphans.
December 1st has been designated as World AIDS Day by the United Nations.
4. Babysitting Fundraiser: Invite parents of young children to drop them
off for an evening of fun with your organization. By charging a fee of $5.00 an hour for a four hour time frame, with 10 children to babysit, you could collect $200!
5. Recycle to Raise Funds for Schools and Orphans: Earn up to $4
each for used inkjet cartridges. No hassle, no cost, free shipping, cash payment within 5 days. www.empties4cash.com
6. Recycle Aluminum Can Funds: Did you know that you can collect aluminum soda/cola cans and get money for
doing it? Ask people to save their cans for you and take them to a
recycling center to sell for cash!
7. Dinner or Breakfast: Invite
friends to dinner or breakfast featuring delicious foods and entertainment from the
country you want to help. Ask them for a $5 to $10 donation fee. Before you know it, you will have funds to support a project in Kisumu, Kenya!
8. Help an Orphan
Wrist Bands: Contact Kisumu Project, Inc. about selling “Help an Orphan” wristbands. 100% of proceeds will go toward providing
education and shelter to the orphans of Western Kenya. We will provide you with the silicone wristbands!

“Clothing, Shoes, Socks, and First Aid” Fundraising Drive
Over time, those of us who
have all of our basic needs met start to take things for granted. Remember that not everyone has the clothes,
shoes, socks, and basic first aid things they need. The majority of orphans have none of these
things.
Your organization can arrange
to have t-shirts, shoes, socks, and first aid items collected so that they can
be sent to Kenya. You simply need to contact Kisumu Project,
Inc. to find out what the basic needs are at the present time. Contact information: kisumuprojectinc@gmail.com
- Always
remember to discuss the importance of your fundraising cause with those who are
volunteering or donating to it. The more you tell people about the dire situations for orphans and people of poverty, the sooner you will get supporters for your fundraising efforts.
